Budapest 2 Oktoberfest 2027

8-night European river boat adventure!

Itinerary

Our journey takes us from Budapest Hungary, to Bratislava Slovakia, through Vienna, Salzburg, alpine lakes, and wineries in Austria, to Passau and Munich Germany. Each port will be marked with a trail run where participants walk, run, or race between 5K-12K each morning, earning the rest of their day with cafes, city tours, breweries, and plenty of downtime on our floating home along the Danube River.

DAY 1 - Budapest Hungary - ALL ABOARD!
Saturday, September 18, 2027

Here we go! Beginning our journey in Budapest Hungary, known for the two regions on either side of the river, “Buda” and “Pest”. Maybe you’ve arrived a day or two early or maybe you’re touching down just in time. Regardless, it’s time to board the S.S. Reverie so we can commence our float down the Danube!

Today is all about registering onboard, getting cozy with your cabin assignment, having a great dinner on board, announcements for the week, and kicking off this whole thing right. Welcome aboard, everyone!

After a morning run through the parks of Budapest, and a little more time to tour this city (guided should you choose, unguided if you’d like). Then we’re setting sail for our next city and country in Bratislava, Slovakia!
This cute and concentrated little city is such a great stop. Restaurants and pubs litter the riverside with plenty for everyone to see and do.
Upon arrival into Slovakia, and before the tourist in you kicks in, we’ll be boarding buses to Bratislava’s Forest Park. Hike or run your way through the wooded trails before you’re spit out at a mini-beer-garden for all to celebrate their finish.
Then it’s back into the city for lots of free time, shops, breweries, and sightseeing before dinner on the ship.
Next stop, VIENNA AUSTRIA!
If you can believe it, by Day 4, we will be entering our THIRD country – Austria! And our first stop there is in one of the most beautiful cities in the world – Vienna! We have a great wooded single-track run for everyone to enjoy this morning, right along the Danube River. This should leave you plenty of time to explore all the city has to offer.
Tonight is a BIG night on board – It’s our 70s Disco Party! Dress to impress and own your 70s attire. This is going to be a night to remember!
There is no wrong answer today, but there are definitely choices! If it’s time to rest the legs, you can enjoy a quiet boat ride down the Danube and wave to most of us who are on land. Others can opt to leisurely bike from port to port, enjoying the vineyards along the way. And for those who just can’t get enough, you can go big with this week’s half-marathon, and run from port to port. The choice is yours today!
After docking in Linz, we’re getting straight onto the buses and diving deeper into Austria. Our run today takes us around a beautiful Austrian Alp by the name of Lake Fuschlsee. Take a dip in the clear blue water at the finish if you’d like – you’ve earned it!
Then it’s off to the walled city of Salzburg. Move from new town to old town and hang out inside the castle overlooking the city.
It’s time to stake claim on our 4th country of the week – GERMANY! The Oktoberfest will be so close you can almost taste it! The small riverside city of Passau is definitely worth a look around, by foot, on our final run of the week. Give it your all, take in the countryside views, and we’ll see you at the finish line.
We’re going to enjoy one last final dinner on the S.S. Reverie. Take it all in. Reminisce on the amount of food, drink, luxury, lounging, and celebrating that took place on this vessel all week. No one back home is gonna believe you!
It’s an early start as it’s time to check out of your cabins and load those buses to Munich, our final stop on this 9-day experience.
The Oktoberfest is tough to describe. It’s county fair meets international camaraderie meets biggest-beer-festival-in-the-word. You can eat great food, ride the Ferris wheel, drive bumper cars, or just cheers to oom pah pah bands all day long. Pace yourself if you can, because today will be one for the ages.
