DAY 1 - Welcome to Athens
Thursday, July 27, 2028
Our hotel will be looking up at The Acropolis, home to the Parthenon, and other historical archeological structures. Budget time to see this marquis site before registration at 5pm this afternoon.
Your hotel room is included in Athens this evening. Each room is based on double occupancy.
Tonight you will register for the week ahead, be briefed on all there is to know about the itinerary, and prepare to board our private ships tomorrow!
First, we get our exercise in the early morning in Athens. Race/Run/Walk your way into the week with a tour of Athens by foot!
You’ll have time to freshen up and put on your final packing touches post walk or run. After that, it’s time to board the buses so you can board your ship!
OOO! Yes, you’re out of office, but that’s not what this stands for:
  • Open House
  • Open Water
  • Open Bar

We know you’re ship-curious, so this is your chance to swim from ship to ship, checking out each floor, dining space, and living space. We’ll be anchored at Polyaigos for a good piece of the day, so feel free to jump off a ship, swim, paddle, and enjoy. We’ll have all three bars open on each ship too – one hour of Open Bar will be part of the day. We’ll encourage all of you to have a swim buddy, drink responsibly, and swim/tour at free will!

That night we’ll dock in Folegandros where you’re on your own for dinner that evening.
Not only is the town of Oia on Santorini one of the most photographed destinations in the world, it’s also the finish line for one of the most scenic 10Ks there is. Our morning race/run/hike is the Fira to Oia Caldera Trail, which hugs the ridge of the island with views for miles and miles.
Lunch on your own in Santorini today, followed by a sunset dinner on board. It’s time to set sail for our next stops in Antiparos and Paros.
We’ll kick off the morning with a gorgeous race/run/hike along the North Coastline. Then back to the ships for breakfast. Shower, relax, or….JUMP IN! We’re going to dock here for a good piece of the day to enjoy another swim, paddle, and open house.
After some crystal blue water fun, we’ll sail our way to the neighboring island of Paros. Paros is best known for its beaches and traditional villages. Parikia, the bayside capital, will be our home for the night. Enjoy a night out in town.

After departing Paros, we’ll stop by Delos-Rhenia for a visit of the arch and some more open water fun. By mid-afternoon, we will have reached our destination for the day, night, and next morning – Mykonos!

There is no running or hiking today. We will have saved up our energy for the evening. This is the party island, so either make your way back to the ship after a nice dinner in town OR…succumb to the all-night-long nightlife that is Mykonos – you decide!
We hope you left a little gas in the tank, because Day 7 kicks off with Hike/Run 4! Our morning exercise will take us to a more quiet side of Mykonos. Brunch will be served on board for the voyage to Syros.
Now to the OLYMPICS! Enough talk on which ship is better than whose. In ancient Greek times, there was only one way to settle a dispute such as this – an OLYMPICS! Each ship will put up teams to compete in the most grueling Olympic events the beach can muster. Long jump, 50 meter dash, egg-in-spoon, three legged race, water balloon toss, and the daunting tug-of-war. Gold, silver, and bronze medals will be awarded on the official R2A podium.
After our fierce competition on the beaches of Syros, it’s time for an evening on the island. Syros will provide us an authentic Greek experience away from the crowds of Mykonos and Santorini. It offers a unique mix of 19th-century neoclassical architecture, vibrant local culture, excellent food, and lively atmosphere.
Syros is our home for Race/Run/Hike 5. It’s scenic and rugged coastal views offer fun and challenging terrain for our final morning of exercise.

A heavier breakfast will be provided on board, after our final morning of exercise. Then we’ll set sail to Kythnos for one final crystal blue swim stop. That or just lounge on the deck or nap in your cabin.

It is time to head back towards Athens. In the early evening we’ll pass by the Temple of Poseidon, celebrating the Greek God of the sea. Make sure to thank him for the week of a lifetime.
We will have docked here overnight, so you can depart the ship as early as 8am. Some may choose to head straight to the airport and then home. Others will have unfinished business in Greece. Maybe others, off to Turkey?
No matter what, see you on the next Race2Adventure soon!
